While we’ve been working hard for over two and a half years to have all core gameplay mechanics and a good chunk of quality content in place for a solid Early Access release, there is still a ton of work ahead of us, and we look forward to getting your feedback and iterating the game based on that. Combined with fast-paced 3D combat and exploration second-to-second gameplay in open space, on planet surfaces as well as underground, and supporting 1st person, 3rd person, and cockpit view, as well as meaningful endgame content, adds even more dimensions of complexity not found in your average shooter. Open-world games with modern RPG elements, a variety of complex gameplay mechanics deeply interwoven with one another, are arguably one of the most challenging genres in video games development. Now, as we make the leap from building a linear roguelike space shooter as a small indie team to creating a full-blown open-world space looter shooter as an ambitious AA PC game with EVERSPACE 2, we need your help more than ever. Early Access enables us to stay truly independent, not compromise on our creative vision, and release the game only when we and our community think it is ready. So Q4 : Is it doable to edit a PSX application without corrupting it? Where am I the most likely to find pointers in my LOADER.EXE? I searched for them but found nothing, I supposed the format was different. (Oh, yes, I didn't precised there were datas too in the LOADER.EXE, basicly some uncompressed graphics used when you launch the game, AND as it happens, my audio pointers) I then assumed they were MORE pointers in the executable itself to access certain zones of data. I tested this with ePSXe and the ISO WORKED! But when I attached a debugger to the game and tried to search for my pointers list, the one I added wasn't here. When I did this, my files where truncated (normal since I did this with CDMage). I tried to add a music I composed in SEQ and VAB in the sound file and added a pointer to the list in LOADER.EXE Pretty logical since the music doesn't depend on the level in which you are. It contains all the pointers needed to access SEQ and VAB datas for the sound. Most of them are in the main data header file, but some of them are located in the loader application used by the PS1 (LOADER.EXE). Q3 : Do I need to know something else to make that work?Īnother thing, I found pretty all pointers that lead to datas in the game files. Q2 : Is it easier/safer to edit the xml myself? ![]() Q1 : Would mkisoxml help me to arrange files in my ISO the exact same way they are in the original? When I tried to rebuild an ISO of the game from scratch with mkpsxiso then opened it with CDMage, I noticed all LBA changed (which is normal, I didn't precised the order of the files in my ISO, but I'm not sure how to do it) I then tried to use mkpsxiso, but I'm pretty new to that and everything isn't clear to me. You can use it to replace files in an original ISO, but they can't exceed original size, otherwise your edited file will be truncated. To exact files from the ISO, I use CDMage which works like a charm. My soft can extract raw datas, edit and eventualy recompress them, but the final size is pretty random.Ĭonclusion : I need to find a way to enlarge the ISO size (which seems to be a pain). When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.My main problem is compression. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game. Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. The integrated save system will not save your progress. Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely. Step 2: return to Retroarch and hit File > Open. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. Your emulator will now be ready to play Alundra rom. After, double click the RetroArch-1.7.5-x86-setup.exe file in order to start the emulator. zip file to a location, for example your Desktop. Once you have finished downloading Retroarch, extract the downloaded. We’d suggest Retroarch – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated. Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. The second component is the Alundra rom itself to play on the emulator. The first component is the emulation program which can imitate the psx OS and software. There are two components for playing a psx Alundra rom on your PC. There is an emphasis on puzzle solving.Ī sequel entitled Alundra 2: A New Legend Begins was released in 1999. The narrative becomes gradually darker and more twisted as the game progresses. Some reports claim sesame was cultivated in Egypt during the Ptolemaic period, while others suggest the New Kingdom. It is possible that the Indus Valley civilization exported sesame oil to Mesopotamia, where it was known as ilu in Sumerian and ellu in Akkadian. It has been claimed that trading of sesame between Mesopotamia and the Indian subcontinent occurred by 2000 BC. Īrchaeological remnants of charred sesame dating to about 3500-3050 BCE suggest sesame was domesticated in the Indian subcontinent at least 5500 years ago. indicum, the cultivated type, originated in India. ![]() Most wild species of the genus Sesamum are native to sub-Saharan Africa. The genus has many species, and most are wild. Sesame seed is considered to be the oldest oilseed crop known to humanity. The word "benne" was first recorded to be used in English in 1769 and comes from Gullah benne which itself derives from Malinke bĕne. From these roots, words with the generalized meaning "oil, liquid fat" were derived. The word "sesame" is from Latin sesamum and Greek σήσαμον: sēsamon which in turn are derived from ancient Semitic languages, e.g., Akkadian šamaššamu. Like other foods, it can trigger allergic reactions in some people. With a rich, nutty flavor, it is a common ingredient in cuisines around the world. Sesame has one of the highest oil contents of any seed. It tolerates drought conditions well, growing where other crops fail. Sesamum has many other species, most being wild and native to sub-Saharan Africa. Sesame seed is one of the oldest oilseed crops known, domesticated well over 3,000 years ago. World production in 2018 was 6 million metric tons (5,900,000 long tons 6,600,000 short tons), with Sudan, Myanmar, and India as the largest producers. It is widely naturalized in tropical regions around the world and is cultivated for its edible seeds, which grow in pods. Numerous wild relatives occur in Africa and a smaller number in India. (16-21 C.).Īlternatively, plant sesame seeds directly in the garden in moist soil after you’re certain all frost danger has passed.Sesame ( / ˈ s ɛ s ə m i/ Sesamum indicum) is a plant in the genus Sesamum, also called benne. Transplant sesame plants outdoors after temperatures have reached 60 to 70 degrees F. Keep the potting mix moist and watch for seeds to germinate in a couple of weeks. Plant the seeds in small pots, covered with about ¼ inch (6 mm.) of a good quality, lightweight potting mix. Start benne seeds indoors about a month before the last expected frost. ![]() Sesame (benne) seeds for planting are often sold by seed companies that specialize in heirloom plants. Full sunlight is best for growing benne seeds. Well-drained soil is a requirement, as sesame plants don’t tolerate soggy growing conditions. Sesame plants grow in most soil types, but they thrive in fertile soil with a neutral pH. White or pale pink, bell-shaped flowers bloom for several weeks during the summer. to 2 m.), depending on plant variety and growing conditions. The sesame plant is a drought tolerant annual that can reach heights of 2 to 6 feet (61 cm. Benne health benefits include the oil, which is healthy for the heart and used to treat various skin conditions, including sunburn. They are also rich in vitamins B and E and protein, and the high fiber content makes them an effective treatment for constipation. ![]() Sesame seeds are a great source of minerals including copper, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, zinc, and selenium. The name is largely a regional preference and sesame seeds are still known as benne in certain areas of the deep south. In fact, many plant historians believe benne was brought to the New World in slave ships. Benne is simply the African name for sesame ( Sesamum indicum). Is there a difference between benne seeds and sesame seeds? Not a bit. Today, benne seeds are grown in Texas and a few other southwestern states, but most often, the seeds are imported from China or India. The seeds were highly valued during colonial times, but in spite of their nutritional benefits, benne hasn’t gained a following as a food crop in the United States. Benne is an ancient plant with a recorded history of at least 4,000 years. What are benne seeds? Chances are you already know about benne seeds, which are more commonly known as sesame seeds. 1/31/2024 0 Comments The committed viet thanh nguyen![]() I'm still someone who's affected by my refugee experiences and still trying to work those things out. You still call yourself a refugee, although your actual flight ended decades ago. So I'm going to write this novel partly to interrogate that mythology and that seduction and to write a novel about Paris that is not about romantic Paris, but is instead a novel about the gritty immigrant and refugee Paris. I think the mythology of France, and Paris in particular, is so powerful and so seductive that even someone like me who is who is deeply critical of French colonialism is still seduced by this mythology of French culture. The Committed is very much my attempt to write a novel about the France that Americans and much of the world, including me, have a hard time seeing. Did you have French readers in mind when you wrote it? So I think Americans have a very hard time getting over their own ethnocentrism in looking at this experience. But we have to remember, about 3 million Vietnamese people died during this war. What Americans get wrong about this war is that they think of it as purely an American war in which the Vietnamese are the bystanders of the drama - even though around 58,000 or so Americans died in the war, which is a tragedy. I think it is important to make this intervention into American memory. find it oftentimes very surprising and very shocking. So in order to even hear what the Vietnamese have to say about their own history and their own war, most people have to go to Vietnam. What is missing in the US narrative?Īmerican memories and American stories circulate all over the world, whereas the Vietnamese, their narratives have not. With your novels, you also wanted to create a new narrative about the Vietnam War. But I felt that when it came time for me to be a writer, I wanted to assert what my experience was like, as in the experience of Vietnamese refugees and other Asian immigrants and Asian Americans in the United States. But the literature that I read was almost wholly the literature of white Americans and of European culture and the Western canon - all of which is important. I grew up with a deep love of literature, which was really my salvation as a refugee coming to the United States. You said in an interview: "I wanted to write a novel that was a so-called minority novel." Can you elaborate? I wanted to explore both him as a person, but also him as a revolutionary, as someone who was devoted to revolution but disillusioned with the communist revolution. But by the end of the novel I discovered that the main character, the Sympathizer himself, had not let go of me. When I wrote The Sympathizer, it was meant to be just a novel by itself. Was the story intended to be a trilogy from the start? The author spoke with DW about The Committed as a "minority novel," and about being forever a refugee. It tells the story of a young man displaced from communist North Vietnam who resorts to drug dealing to survive in capitalist Paris in the early 1980s. ![]() His second fiction effort, The Committed, published this year, continues his trilogy on the impact of Vietnam War through Vietnamese eyes. The same year, his breakout novel, The Sympathizer, went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. Having found sanctuary in literature as a youth, the Vietnamese-American went on to become a professor of English, American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California, and the author of non-fiction books like Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War, published in 2016. Viet Thanh Nguyen and his parents fled to the United States in 1975 from war-torn Vietnam. 1/31/2024 0 Comments Panera recent menu additions![]() These foods require cultivation and processing, which emits an excessive amount of carbon dioxide. Foods that pose higher threats of CO2 emissions are meat, dairy or any food that is high in sugar. Items on the menu that have the badge tend to include vegetables, fruits, grains and nuts or seeds. The restaurant labels any product that’s made using less than 5.38 kg of CO2 as a “cool meal.” This range includes the most environmentally-friendly options they offer, including a Mediterranean bowl with 1.74 kg of carbon dioxide on the safer side and the Fuji Apple Salad with chicken that takes 4.48 kg of carbon dioxide per meal. It seems that Panera feels the same, as their new menu feature encourages attempting to reduce the carbon footprint we leave in our everyday lives - and that starts with monitoring the food we eat, as the process of producing and raising livestock, for example, contributes to 20-50% of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere, according to. The release of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases contribute to global warming and climate change - and I for one would like to live past 30, so I’m always looking out for what I can do to help the environment. Other food chains should follow Panera in their conservation efforts and adapt this addition to their menus. About 10 years ago they were the first mainstream food establishment to include calorie counts - and now they’ll be the first to include the amount of carbon dioxide that’s released when producing menu items. Panera has always been ahead of the game when it comes to their menus. It’s official - Panera is saving 2020, and not just because of their newly-released chipotle chicken avocado melt sandwich. 1/31/2024 0 Comments Black sabbath vinylWhatever the case here, I am sure one or two fellow members will closely check and compare as seen as this comes out and hopefully will let us know their findings. You never really get a "go-to" weapon you can use to easily take down weaker enemies, with even those tiny flying imps taking multiple shots from anything weaker than the crossbow. The crossbow (aka shotgun) is especially annoying sometimes you'll shoot an enemy point blank and kill it in one shot, other times it takes two or even three shots to take it down. I don't like that the enemies are damage sponges and how random weapon damage seems to be. The soundtrack is also fantastic, especially when played on a Roland Sound Canvas. It's got some really well drawn enemies with some really elaborate death animations. I like that the levels in Heretic are typically quite large and open, as it makes it seem like you are actually exploring a space compared with the tight corridors of Doom or the puzzle maps of Doom 2. I like it quite a bit, but I'd definitely rank it below Doom. |
